Fab 50 minutes run this morning and at last I made it up that demon of a hill that has got the better of me so many times. Oh I am so chuffed with myself, however I definitely need to invest in some waterproof running shoes as when I got home my feet were squelching due to part of my run being off road. Any suggestions?
Finally run up that hill non-stop πββοΈππββοΈ - Couch to 5K

Well done on beating the hill into submission πMy trail shoes are waterproof , (Apparently, not tested in anger yet)
But my road shoes are not .
Both are Saucony
Well done on the hill, ππ€ΈπΌββοΈπ No suggestions on waterproof shoes though.
Congratulations on beating the hill and on the stamina to last 50 mins!Until now, I didnβt know waterproof running shoes were a thing! π.
If you get some, do let us know what you think of them. ππ
Well done on the hill PollyGray - you should be chuffed! Re waterproof shoes, I wouldnβt worry too much. Trail shoes are probably a bit more weatherproof but ordinary road shoes wonβt be. But if they were and water got in or when your feet start to sweat, youβd soon be running in a puddle of water which had nowhere to go - a recipe for blisters! Get wet feet and look forward to warm dry socks when you get home!

Before you invest in a pair it is highly recommended that you go to a running shop for a gait analysis.
I run trails as much as possible PollyGray and no longer worry about waterproof shoes. If water can get in, it can also get out! I have Brooks Cascadia 15, but they might not suit you, definitely get gait analysis done.
Well done on beating that hill!
I read a post on another forum by someone complaining that their waterproof running shoes filled with water. The general consensus was that it's best to avoid waterproof shoes for running. As for trench foot, I think that's only a risk if you wear your shoes 24 hours a day for several weeks!
The only adaptation that I've made for running with wet feet is to buy some running socks because they don't bunch up under my feet (wet or dry).
Now you're doing 50 minute runs you might find the posts in our sister forum, Bridge to 10K, interesting.
None of my shoes are waterproof. If you have good socks you can run in them even when they're wet. The coldness only lasts for a few moments.
Donβt get waterproof shoes as the water gets in and wonβt come out. Embrace getting wet. If you really want, you could get some waterproof socks but again, Iβd say just get wet ππ½ Well done on the hill. Itβll really help you improve π
Very well done to you! Even a slight incline drains me - not sure how to overcome it - any advice welcome ππ»
Great achievement beating the hill and your stamina is far better than mine. 50 minutes. Wow! Excellent.
As for waterproof running shoes I really don't have any idea. These look nice though π€£π€£

Well done on conquering that hill! If, at first, you don't succeed.... you are a poster child for trying again!
I tend to just get wet feet too, it all drains out in the end. As someone mentioned, there are waterproof socks that may be an option if you really hate wet feet, but waterproof shoes fill up if you step in a deep puddle and they don't drain well
And now I have Kate Moss singing "running up that hill" in my head
