Best advice would be a gait analysis first then you will know what you need , rather than going by someone else's preference. What is good for someone else could be totally wrong for you
This might help healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Take other people's recommendations with a pinch of salt......they are not you, do not run like you and their favourite shoes might cripple you.
what do people think to Hoka?
Can you get them for that price? My friend swears by them and will have nothing else, but that’s what suits her. Best to wait until a shop is open really so you can try a load on. I must have tried on about 10 pairs in a running shop before I found the right ones for me. I opted for some New Balance hierro in the end and absolutely love them. Although they didn’t offer to get my gait analysed which I though was poor service for a running shop, despite everyone telling me that’s the place I need to go. If I was buying again I’d go to a different shop and book a session.
If I found a pair i like, price really doesn't matter. I have had a gait analysis done many times over the years, so i know what my running method and landing method is. I am just curious to know what brands they went for and the reasons and just as importantly, durability of the shoe.
My thoughts was if i went for a more bouncy shoe, it would protect my toes a bit more.
