After 5 successful weeks I could not complete my second run this morning. I’m having issues with tight calves. After combatting shin pains, knee and hip pains, now facing tightness in calves. I do stretches before runs and after, has anyone got good tips to alleviate this tightness.

Are you doing 'Dynamic' stretches before you run ? NOT static , there is a difference .Static stretches are for after your run

This is so vital. Static won't help for warmup at all, in fact, it'll make it worse.

I did it, not for this though as I already knew, but back in my gym days.

I'm sure I've been guilty also before I came here 😁

Wow thanks, that is probably where I have been going wrong, I have been doing static stretches before the runs, and as I run the calves get tighter and tighter. I will now implement dynamic and see how I get on with the repeat run on Friday.
