Hello,

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I've tried C25K a few times now but never finished.

I am determined to be able to run for 30mins at a natural, comfortable speed without stopping. That's all I want.

Right now I'm coming off a medication and that is causing insomnia and fatigue. I'm super slow, and I'm probably going to stick with the week 1 runs until I don't feel like dying. But I'll get there in the end!

Welcome to the forum and C25K Buglet14, I just hope this time you can complete the course and be able to continue after the first couple of weeks

Unfortunately there are many people who have begun C25K, I wish them luck and ask them to report their progress, sadly that is the last time that I have heard from them, I think they must give up after weeks 3 or 4, however, I am sure that this time you will complete the course, take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, good luck. 👍 🏃🏾

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

If you feel like you are dying, you are still going too fast. Can you speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run?.........if not, you are going too fast.

Slowing down to the recommended easy conversational pace makes it more achievable and for most, more enjoyable.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

I completed C25K on my third attempt. The first time I only completed week 1. The second time I got to the end of week 2. I didn't find this forum until week 3 of my third attempt. I then learned about proper hydration, running slowly and the importance of the post-run stretches.

Don't forget you can take multiple rest days between runs. The "week" is only a way of grouping the runs together in handy bundles.

Hi Buglet14,Like you I have tried a couple of times before and then started doing my 3rd attempt while on a very (very) low carb diet, which maybe wasn't the perfect time to start.

Try to stick with it, you have already sussed that you can be flexible with when you move on to the next level which is great. Just do it at your own pace and stick with it and I would be confident you will succeed. Perserverance seems to be key!

The weather will get better, which should help, I usually feel more inclined to run on better days, but am trying to push myself to run to a schedule, but that's just me. My last run in week 3 today, so I still have plenty to do!

Good luck!!
