So completed week 2 run 3 tonight.... so onto week 3 which I'm feeling a bit anxious about if I'm honest, but I felt this way about week 2 and just completed that so I'll see how it goes on run w3r1.... I really need to quit smoking as I think that's not helping much..ππ I'm covering about 2.5 miles in the time that I'm out is this around average or am I running too slow????
Week 2 complete: So completed week 2 run... - Couch to 5K
Week 2 complete
Well done.
There really is no need to be anxious about any aspect of C25K. This post about mental approach may help put it into perspective healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Many new runners do not appreciate that the optimal pace at which to develop your stamina and endurance is a nice easy conversational pace which will encourage greater capillary density and more numerous mitochondria.
If you run hard you can destroy muscle mitochondria, so don't worry about pace.......slow really is good.
I'm just a week ahead of you and it didn't feel bad going from week 2 to week 3. I am now really trying to follow the advice to go slow enough that I could have a conversation.
Regarding smoking, I finally knocked it on the head when I started doing long distance cycling events. So thinking about how it effects your exercise can be really helpful. Good luck.
Don't think about how far you are running, it's all about the length of time you are running. Slow and steady is the way to do it.
I've never smoked so can't really say if stopping would help but given all the health advice surrounding it, I would say it would have to be a benefit if you could stop
Enjoy week 3 x
