Nearly gave in to the ice! Sand running!

On w3 run 2 and nearly thought I would have to give up as it was so icy and scared of falling. I’m lucky that we live by the beach so I was able to run on the sand which was a new experience! Not sure how adviseable it is long term though ?

Think we have messaged before. I always run on beach. I wasn't sure how it would go as new to running and most people seem to prefer to run on road and pavements, but I love it. As you say, not icy and slippery like the paths although wind was absolutely freezing when I ran last night (W4R1). I'm hoping that so long as I follow all the advice given, such as warm up, cool down stretchers, rest days, don't go too fast, good shoes, etc. it will be fine. If you enjoy it and your body isn't telling you not to, I'd say make the most of being lucky enough to have the beach to run on.

I’m so jealous! I have a 10 minute drive to get to the beach. Not sure I fancy running on sand, but I’m looking forward to running along the promenade when lockdown rules are relaxed and it gets a bit warmer.Good luck 😊
