But kept going.. and pleased to have finished AND I seem to less knackered than I was after the 1st one..

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
It is the duration that matters, not pace or distance.
Only a small proportion of graduates from this forum who responded to a poll, managed 5k in 30 minutes by graduation healthunlocked.com/couchto5....
Graduation requirements are that you complete three thirty minute runs, regardless of distance.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.
To paraphrase The Smiths, "Some runs are better than others." All runs are better than sitting on the couch.
It may be really slow but you may have found your comfortable slow pace.
You can always up your pace for the last 2 minutes or less. You have to run 25 minutes and more 3 times a week from now on. You may find you need to keep to a comfortable pace!
I’m 55 too Jonnyboy9 😁 1965 is a good vintage.
You’ll find that although some runs are tougher than others you’re recovery rate improves. Well done stick with it, you’re doing great 👍 🏃♂️
Another vote here for 1965 🙋♀️! Well done Jonnyboy9 I’m off out to start W6 today so I hope I can do it too!
