Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran πŸƒπŸΎ.

Thanks I will remember that I think I have seen other posts from people who have said that, it seems odd doesnt it after you have done a non stop run (or in my case slow jog) to then find it difficult but I am sure I will, but the encouragement from here is so helpful to keep going, so thank you all.

I graduated from C25K in June 2018, I have also graduated from B210K by running 10K and also 10 miles, however, from time to time I occasionally run, runs 3 of week 5, 6 and 9 of C25K for a little practice, this morning just by coincidence I reran, run 3 of week 5, that's the run you ran this morning JRF5, once again congratulations to you.

It's common to find the first 5 or ten minutes hard. It's known as the "Toxic Ten." It's your body getting used to the extra impact. Your muscles are not warmed up fully until you've run a bit and they're short of the oxygen which they get. After your blood starts pumping and you take in more air/oxygen which goes into your blood, your muscles ease. I am sure more experienced people here can correct me here if I'm not totally accurate. I find the first few minutes are fine, then it gets tough for 10 minutes. It's all a good reason to try not to go out too hard at the start if each run.
