Week6 Day3 -Boxing Day!

I don’t recognise myself anymore!!!!! Boxing Day is for sitting in front of naff telly and eating your body weight in chocolate...?! Though some of that might come later on today..!

Been out for a run this morning - first ever run on Boxing Day!! - and, although it was a little tough after a fairly sedentary day yesterday, managed to do the 25 minute run. Although Sarah Millican gave up half way round... the app decided to turn itself off!!!! However I kept an eye on the watch for the warmup/run/cool down phases and managed 4.95km!!!

Delighted - 5km seems within grasp now. Three weeks until graduation and I can’t wait!!!

Well done 👍🏼. Your run has definitely earned you a few sweet treats for later on, so it’s a win win I’d say! 🍫 😊

I can't recognise myself either. Same as you, I'd be slobbing on the sofa all day. This lunchtime I ran 8km in 55mins. That's almost five miles!

Was the 4.95km including all the walks or was it just the running bit?

Including the warmup/cool down - all part of the ‘off the couch’ in my mind!!!! And to be fair - much of the afternoon was then spent lounging on the sofa eating my body weight in chocolate!!!

Me too for most of the evening.

So you're probably doing about 4km of actual running in the 25 minutes, then? That's still pretty fast.

I’d guess so. Going to record the runs only when I get down to the final week and see ho it is going. It’s all further than I’ve ever run previously so enjoying the challenge!Averaging around 6:00 per km. Opportunities to build that up now over the next few weeks!

Don't push to go fast. That way lies possible injury. Just keep it easy and comfortable.

At a 6min/km pace you'll do 5km in 30 minutes anyway. The goal of this programme is not distance, but duration. Most folks don't get anywhere near 5km in their graduation run.
