Week 5 run 3 done šŸ’Ŗ

Hey all,

So I did it I didnā€™t think I could as it seemed just a massive leap from the previous run, but I just did it, ok it wasnā€™t running just a nice paced jog. Anyway so happy with that, only question I have is that Iā€™ve had a headache all day and I think itā€™s from the run. Today i must of had over two litres of water but urine still isnā€™t 100% clear (sorry to be graphic) just wondered should I be drinking a lot more? Iā€™m not really a water drinker I used to drink a lot of tea and coffee. But now Iā€™m on a health kick Iā€™ve never really known on what I should be drinking etc.. even on days I donā€™t run. Any advice would be great

Thanks

Andy

1. "it wasnā€™t running just a nice paced jog" - PERFECT ! That is now your "pace" for the remainer of the program and will see to the end very nicely. Nothing else in the program should faze you now.

2. Hydration - a few (3?) cups of tea or coffee (not strong) a day is fine. But try and drink in between them a few glasses of water of similar volume. I'm not one for 2-3 litres a day (I'm a smallish guy, so I'd be pissing it out all day!) but the key is your pee colour... it should be nice and clear and light coloured.

- so don't go overboard with the water, but try upping that, while cutting back the tea/coffee.

PS I avoid all sugary/fizzy/energy drinks (apart from beer at the weekends). Get into the habit of water and it will serve you well.

It is important to stay hydrated when running but you don't need to drink 3/4 litres of water a day at this stage, that might be OK for marathon runners but not if you are doing C25K, I drink a lot of water but not any more than 1 and a half litres a day, I also drink Green Tea, they say that is good for you.

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran šŸƒšŸ¾.

Well done completing it. Iā€™ve just finished that run too šŸ‘šŸ».

I love water so thatā€™s my main drink but also have a glass of skimmed milk after my run.

I too stuck to a jog. Think itā€™s the best way really to ensure you get through it
