So missed out yesterday for my second consolidation run...a bit annoyed but had fun Halloween times with my daughter so all good.
Anyway 4pm Sunday , hopped up on Halloween candy (thought that might help🤪) trainers on and off I went. Now ‘naked’ running I am not quite ready for ( also sounds a bit nippy!) so I went back to the lovely calming Laura, and I needed her in my corner today. It’s weird the first ten minutes as expected quite rough after that things are ok, but in the last 10 mins I start to feel the most comfortable. I feel like it takes me that long to sort of get into a rhythm and feel I could keep going. So for my next run I will aim again for 4K which should be about 38mins, then I will go back to 30mins and see how it go’s.
Managed to get lost in a park that I know like the back of my hand, joys of running in the dark but pretty cool view on my warm down.

Well done for getting out. I have not let go of Jo Whiley yet, having done three consolidation runs. It'll happen for both of us one day, we'll just grow a little more and be able to let go of the reassurance of being counted down every 5 mins.
Great photo! I thought at first it might be the Menai Bridge on Anglesey, but I don't think so now. Which bridge is it? Looks great all lit up.
For running in the dark do you have a light so you don't get lost in the park? I stick to lit roads/pavements but wear a reflective belt/strap thingy.
It’s Chelsea Bridge. I do most of my running in Battersea Park. I don’t have a light but after yesterday’s experience I will stick to the more well lit parts of the park, I have also decided today to try running along the river (better lighting). I think I probably need some reflective something or other just so the cyclists whizzing past can see me!
Oh, yes, definitely! The cyclists are a liability. I was wearing reflective upper body belt thing and when I went to jog across the road I almost collided with a cyclist with no lights wearing dark clothing. At least cars have lights and make a sound!
It’s great you did your run, especially with the weather being awful yesterday. I have only done one consolidation run, which I did with Jo on. Think I will continue for a while listening, because I like to hear her when she lets me know how long I have been running.
Good luck on achieving your 4K on your next run 😊🏃♀️
