Anyone had a side stitch that moves/drops

I'm a beginner runner and on third run of week 1. Just after half way I got a severe side stitch.. under rib.. worse than ever before had a stitch.. then it moved like drops and is still sharp while it moves a couple inches downwards then stops moving but remains severe for a long time.. I was unable to run or walk for 3 minute.. unable to run for 10 minutes but could walk slowly towards home.

Fine all day since. Ruined my run though. Didn't get it completed. Wondering if moving stitch is normal? Perhaps uncommon, but hopefully normal? how to prevent happening again?

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

Try slowing down so that your breathing is full and deep, not gasping. Also follow the advice in the guide on hydration.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.
