Well! After 3 months of my last jog! I had 3 runs to go! (W9R1) I knew I wouldn’t be able to carry on where I left off so I thought I’d go back to W6R2! I was knackered!! I couldn’t even run for 10 minutes! Not giving up tho! Tomorrow is another day! But was so disappointed in myself 😞
Disappointed! : Well! After 3 months of my last... - Couch to 5K
Disappointed!
That must be tough Chewy73 - maybe go back a little further in the plan - I'm sure you'd love to do week 5 again(!) or try and slow down. You may have been going at your week 9 pace and it wiped you out.
Good luck for your next run 👍
3 months off is quite a while, no need to be so hard on yourself. 😄 Some people find it helpful to do one run from each week until they find their comfortable level, i.e. one run from W1, then one run from W2 etc until you have a sense of “this is a good point to start from.”
Sometimes life gets in the way and delays happen, but we can always find our starting point and get going again. - I have had to do that lots of times over the last three years , but now I can run for well over an hour. I’m very glad I didn’t allow myself to be put off by the stopping and starting in the early stages. 😄
Was easy during lockdown but then I started back to work and wasn’t used to working haha, Iv finally got back on track and finding these runs difficult to fit them in and to complete them! I don’t easily give up! As my mum used to say...”if at first you don’t succeed! Try try again!” And that’s what I intend to do 👍
I had 6 weeks off running in the summer as life got in the way!! I went back to week 4 of the C25K plan and that seemed to be a good place to start. I am now back up to running for 30 mins and have just started a Bridge to 10K plan again. I would suggest try week 4 and if that is still too much then go back another week. If you try to do too much to soon you could end up on the injury couch!! Good luck with whatever you chose and I'm sure you'll be back on track in no time.
