I’m struggling to find a pair of women’s GTS 19 or 20, but I can men’s, would they be ok? Should I come down half a size?

I haven't tried ladies trainers MrsCDN but it's gotta be worthwhile popping into a shop and finding out if the men's are similar!

Sadly I’m 80 miles from shops that would stock them.

Yikes too far to run 🤪

My running shop I use in Chester is nationwide and I think have online sales as well.....

They will be wider. Defo go down half a size though. I wear men’s as I’ve got big feet but I like the width.

Brooks have a 90 day returns guarantee, even if you’ve worn them running.

Their website has a messaging chat facility too. Why not pop them a question?

I don’t know about coming down a size or half. Aren’t the sizes based on length? Ideally, rule of thumb is a thumb’s width between your longest toe and the end of the shoe inside. The nominal number is seen as just a guide.

Probably the difference between men and women’s sizes is width and height and ankle opening, but not length.

Incidentally I found out you can get your gait analysis done online providing you can get on a treadmill - but there may be one a lot closer to you than the specialist running shops. 🙂

You need a video camera, but the one on most smartphones will do. Use it to make a video of your running legs from the back and email it off, then they’ll send back the analysis.

I should check if Brooks do this as I like their shoes!

Thanks I had one done last December when we were away which is how I ended up with these shoes. Didn’t know they would do DIY analysis though. That’s really useful.

Yes, it’s useful to know for future times.

Brooks doesn’t do it, though apparently they have a bus which tours the country offering gait analysis but obviously it’s more about promoting their shoes.

I think Runners Needs might do it online now - it seems a popular outlet with runners.

If you buy from brooks website, you can run in them outside to check they are ok and return within 90 days to get refund or exchange. If you buy from another supplier as I did, you may have to take a credit note or exchange. As someone who has had the 19s and 20s I would say the 20s are wider, and I went from 19s wide to 20s normal width. Both 19s and 20s are in one size bigger than my normal shoes.

Strange that you can’t find ladies sizes in 20s as I had no problem recently. The men’s are a bit wider in the toe box and heel area.

Start fitness, and runners need online might be useful to try. I think the 21s might be here soon if you have no luck. Don’t Change the size when swapping to men’s.

Good luck

Well done. Mine are blue with coral laces (no choice in my running shop so I took what they had)
