Is there an app that I can use post couch to 5k that gives prompts as you run at all. Don’t want week 9 forever

For Weeks 7, 8 and 9 I've been running an Android app called FitoTrack, which offers its own voice announcements, in parallel to the C25K app.

You can set it to speak various things and I've set mine to announce time, distance, current speed and pace every three minutes. This seems to work well and has complemented the C25K app in useful ways.

I'm hoping that having done this for the last three weeks means that I'll be able to use it for consolidation runs and still have the same sense of where I am in the run, even if it lacks Laura's brilliant little encouragements along the way.

I'm sure there must be other apps for whatever type of phone you have that will do similar things, and then there's the whole world of wrist-based devices that offer similar functionality.

However, if you've already got a phone and don't want the expense of buying one of hundreds of same-but-all-slightly-different watches out there, an app on your phone where you can preset what it announces and when might be a good start.

Hope this helps. :)

I'm also using FitoTrack in parallel with my Garmin watch.

Interesting. How do they work together?

I haven't succumbed to the allure of wrist-based running watch wizardry...

They don't. I'm using them independently. I've set up an activity in both of them.

I thought that might the case. Given that there are trade-offs with both methods, I'm inclined to stick with just the phone for now.

I can certainly see the value of not having to fumble around with a phone to track runs, but it's worked for me thus far and it'll do for the time being.

Thanks, will look at that. I have an iPhone and have just looked at Nike run club but the guided run has such an annoying guy talking you through the run that I wouldn’t be able to cope with it.

Runkeeper can give time/ distance prompts of your choice along with average/ current pace and interval timing to boot..

I use the Nike Run Club app, Coach Bennett is great, it’s free to use with a good selection of runs of varying distances and times 👍

Week 9 and my first run over and done with. I still am running slow though so I don't make it all the way to the 5K mark. Suggestions?

I'm not crying about this because by god I just ran for 30 minutes straight today for the first...
