How’s your knees?
I have bad knees to begin with, so I've been taking a bunch of steps to make this whole process easier on them. The most important one is exercises - I have a set of knee and leg exercises that I do before each run, which serves both as an extra warm up and to strengthen my knees and my other leg muscles to give extra stability. I'm also doing every week of the programme twice (at the advice of a trainer) to give my body extra time to adjust to each new jump in difficulty, and avoiding running on asphalt as much as possible.
If you're worried about your knees, I'd recommend doing some of the same - especially the exercises! I'm 7 weeks in now, and I haven't felt a single twinge of knee pain - when my last attempt at starting running ended after a week because my knee wasn't having it.
