Early morning running

I started running in the spring and go out around 5am before I leave for work (too tired afterwards!). I’m planning to carry on going out early in the winter & am wondering what’s the best light / torch to use that’s easiest to carry. Is there any other equipment I might need that I’ve not thought of??

What sort of routes do you run?

A mix of dark country lanes then into village roads with intermittent street lights

Some sort of head torch, and maybe a rear light. Clothes with light, possibly reflective, areas. (I'm sure others will have recommendations.)

Essentially, see and be seen.

I asked a similar question and was recommended a head torch, it arrived yesterday so not had chance to use it in anger, and it’s still light when I go out (usually nearer 6), but wow is it bright!

The one I bought is a vango flux- less then £20 from eBay.

I've been wondering this, too - will check out head torches, thanks all :)
