I have been cracking on with the consolidation runs, running 3 times a week and usually doing 4k, but occasionally moving up to 5k if the run is feeling good. I managed to get my ave pace to below 8min/km so was going well.
I went on a date on Sunday and endes up walking miles in flip flops. I did 44,000 steps according to fitbit and both feet and ankle of my right leg felt very sore. I spent the next day hobbling, but put it down to sore muscles.
On Tues I decided to do a 5 min warm up walk and see how it went, it losened my legs up a treat and so I did a 5k run as my legs felt good. I ended up shaving 1.5 mins off my 5k time completing it in 36.39 so still slow, but I was very chuffed. However, as soon as I started walking, my right foot felt very painful - at the top, curving round the outer edge and underneath to the heel and I had to limp home.
Its been painful ever since, but last night I knelt down and realised that my right knee is numb. The inner side and over the knee cap are numb to the touch and it's colder than my other knee.
I was meant to run yesterday and I haven't. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a numb knee and also how long I can leave it without running before I lose the fitness I have gained.
I don't have a long stride as I am only 5ft2 and I am quite fat at just under 12 stone. I do know that my cadence is too low but I can't seem to fix that.
Any experience would be helpful.
