Suggestions for my next step?

I have just looked and now completed 10 runs of 5k. Should I try to get to 6k or aim to run the 5k faster? Can’t decide if 10k is for me, I am worried about the time commitment. I work quite long hours and struggle some weeks to even get three 5k runs in. I don’t want to set myself up to fail. Help/advice needed please.

Increase one run per week is the normal routine if you want to increase duration.

If you want to get to 6k then add some time within the 10% rule until you get there.

If you want to get faster, spend 80% of your running time at an easy conversational pace, to build stamina then push hard in the remainder using intervals or fartlek.

There is more detail on this in the guide to post C25k running. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
