Not the best run

I wanted to get out and try my new Asics this morning but it wasn't my best run. It was torrential rain and I felt sluggish after 3 days of eating too much food due to my birthday and being on holiday from work. Only managed 23 minutes which was disappointing but on the plus side the shoes felt great so that's them oficially christened :-) I had wanted to try Brooks due to a few recommendations on here but every pair I liked were out of stock in my size. I tried on a few others but the Asics felt the best so hopefully it was the right choice. Next run will be Saturday so fingers crossed its dry or at least not just so wet as this morning. I'm aiming for another comfortable 30 minute run and anything more will be a bonus. I'm still amazed that 2 weeks after graduation I'm getting out there and putting one foot in front of the other (even when its pouring!)

Well done for getting it done! I had a similar experience yesterday - I had to stop at 28 minutes as I started feeling unwell. I was really upset but had a word with myself and realised a run is a run, its still 28 minutes longer than I could do at the start and I need to get the pressure off myself and just enjoy and have fun!

New shoes definitely make a difference ☺️

Hope you are feeling better now? I agree, every run counts and it's better than lounging on the sofa in front of the TV or staying in bed.
