I’ve lost it! 😩😊

Haven’t ran for a few weeks due to moving, I’ve just done one and I’ve lost a bit of what I built up. Bit gutted. I only managed 20 minutes this morning. I have one run left of the C25K but thought I’d do a few runs to build myself up again. It was tough! Plus it’s quite hilly where I am now, so the runs are a bit tougher. Oh no, I had gotten so far with it all 😩 hopefully I can build it back up fairly quickly though

You can do it! Keep up your momentum and remember where you started... give yourself a chance to get into the new environment!

Ah thank you! I’m sure it will be fine, I’ll ease myself back in and try to go every other day. I don’t think the hills were helpful 😂

If 20 mins is doable stick to that for a few weeks until you're ready to step up to 9.3

I was thinking the same, if I do a week or two of twenty minute runs, then hopefully I’ll get back up to managing 30 minutes. Thank you! 😊

Important thing is you’ve got back out there. You’ll work out a good route and be back to wk9 before you know it.

Hope the move went well.

For sure, that’s very true. I couldn’t let all the hard work go to waste and I do love the running, so really want to get back into it. Must admit it’s been a tough few weeks and I feel much better after doing a bit of exercise this morning. Thank you for your advice 😊

Don't give up heart. I know how crushing it is, believe me, have been really, really struggling with my asthma, both the last month of C25k and post graduation. More on this to follow in my own post. Ended up in a puddle of tears the other day after had had to abort my second run in a row last week due to asthma. My partner, fortunately, sat me down, and got me to call my Dr who gave me a good pep talk, and a few days after that I set out again, to slowly build up and just went for a ten minute run, and then today I managed 25 minutes again, and hopefully on Tuesday or Wednesday will be back up to 30 minutes. Honestly, I understand what it can feel like having done all that hard work, but it really is still with you, just your brain has forgotten and your confidence has taken a bit of a whack. Don't beat yourself up. Have a good rest, and get back out there. You know you can do it. xxx

Ah thank you! Sorry to hear you’ve been struggling. That’s great that you did your ten minute run and then a 25 minute one, really good. You’ve still got it 💪🏻 I hope you too manage your 30 minute runs this week. Yeh I’m sure it will be fine, I really enjoyed getting back out there today so am going to try and be a bit more consistent with it all now we’re settling in. Thanks so much for your kind words 😊

Oh no, you haven't lost it, you're just adjusting!

Hope the move went well. How about repeating week 8 while you get used to your new running routes and build it up again. Don't forget, alot of running is mental. You know you can do it because you have managed it before. Don't beat yourself up about ONLY doing 20 mins, instead give yourself a pat on the back for completing 20 mins on a new harder route after a couple of weeks off! You've got this 👍🏃‍♂️🎉👊

Ah thanks so much! Yes yes, just adjusting. Great idea re repeating week 8, I think I’ll do that. I was going to do a few twenty minute runs and then get onto the 30 minutes in a week. Determined to try and get out every other day again. You’re right re it being mental, I could maybe have run a little further but I had got to the front door and decided to go in 😂 I think my mind gave up before my body did. Those first ten minutes were real tough but after than it kind of felt ok, apart from my breathing. I can’t believe I’ve got one run left and this happened haha. How are your runs going?? 💪🏻😊

Lol that would be soul destroying to run past your front door 😂

I'm sure you'll get back to it pretty quickly but so worth building back up to finish week 9 comfortably 😊

Yeah, my runs are going well thanks. I'm back up in Cumbria visiting so thought I'd do a long run here. Where I live is hilly but not a patch on here so it was a challenge this morning and definitely not pretty. I was doing my best impression of a boiled pig by the time I got back to the village but I think I'm getting better lol 🤔😂🏃‍♂️👍

Don’t be so hard on yourself, life gets in the way sometimes and it can’t be helped, you’ll get back to where you were 🙂

Thank you! Sorry I didn’t see this. I haven’t been on this as much since moving. Thank you for your kind words

Hey Issywhizz, hope you’ve refound your mojo! How’s it going? I’m repeating week 8 myself after coming back from injury, so I know how you feel! Moving is always an exhausting business but it’ll get easier every day. 😊 We’ve got this you know! We’ve done it before!😄 Really had to laugh when you said you got to your front door and just went in! Classic! I would’ve done the same! 🤣 See, you were still seeing the funny side despite it all! 😊 Don’t lose heart, we can consolidate together and remember what IannodeTruffe said, hills are your friends, they build stamina. You’re going to be rock hard at the end of this! 💕👍🏃‍♀️🐢

Hey, I only managed two runs since I’ve been here. So one run a week 🙈 so bad. I managed 1.5 miles on Wednesday, in 15 minutes and I had to walk up the hill during that!! 😂 I’ve totally lost it. I’m thinking of going back to week 8 too, I need that one thing to push me on, cos I’m giving up way to easy. On this run, I took a short cut down a gulley as it was nearer to home, instead of going the long way round!! 😂 I’m really not helping myself at the moment. I desperately need to get back on track cos each day I’m feeling increasingly more gutted at what I’m losing after all I had achieved.

Sorry to hear you had an injury, was it running related? Are you all healed now? Hope so! I might crack on and actually start week eight this Wednesday or Thursday. Have you already started? We’ve got this 💪🏻😊🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

What’s that saying? Comparison is the thief of joy! If I hadn’t got injured and you hadn’t moved, we’d both have had 10 consolidation runs under our belts by now and would’ve no doubt been looking to start another challenge..... or, not.... 🙃 Doesn’t matter, you’ll still graduate in the end! 👍 Not sure how I did it really but had a test run on Sun and it was great, thanks. 😊 If I need to though, I’ll do Buzzybeeze’s recovery plan, which is to do a run from each week and build up gradually that way. Going back out tomorrow after work, so why don’t we agree to both do it and report back here! 😊🏃‍♀️🐢

Very good point, I like that, comparison is the thief of joy! Who quoted that? Did you end up going back out? I just did another run, 25 minutes, I had to walk a twice for a few minutes. I will make those hills my friends!!! 😂 I am determined to get that bloody badge, with my one run left! I started on week 8 again today
