Hi I have a quick question. I completed W9 R1 last week and although I felt quite comfortable I noticed pain in my shin. I haven't run since as it's too painful but I'm worried that all the progress I've made over 9 weeks will be lost. When I can finally run again, which I'm hoping will be by the end of this week, should I start back at Week 9 or go back to Week 7 or 8??

You won’t lose any fitness in the first two weeks of not running, after which it will be a gradual decline. If you do comeback this week then, you should have lost nothing, and should be good for W9R2... though you’d need to run nice and gently to make sure those shins don’t react and to stop at the first sign of trouble.
After two weeks, we are all a little different... the best thing to do is just go run... set off a week 9 run just in case you can do it. At the end of that run you’ll know what you can comfortably manage, and so see where you need to drop back on the plan.

I hurt my back the day after I completed the second run of week 3. It put me out of action for a week. I completed week 3 (after a week off) and have now nearly completed week 4. I think it’s more a phycological that you think your fitness levels will drop when in reality they don’t.
