Well when I started this journey, not long into lockdown, the thought of running for a minute or two filled me with dread, being overweight and unfit. It’s not all been smooth sailing, I was ill for about 10 days after my second run (it wasn’t the virus though) and then more recently it’s been more like 2/3 rest days between runs, not 1. But...I’ve just got in from the second run of week 9. It was tough. Really tough. I agree with people who post that it’s really ‘couch to 30 minutes’. I hit 5k with the last run of week 6 (but I’m tall), so it’s really been about running for longer. My distances haven’t jumped up as I’m taking it slow and steady. And now I’m one run away from completing the programme. Thanks to those of you on here who have encouraged me (and my wife for giving me a kick up the backside when I don’t want to run!).
To anyone thinking of doing this- you can do it! It does work. I could not have run for 30 minutes at the start of this- but it builds you up slowly and after each run you feel a deep sense of achievement!
