Hurt my knee but how?

Started week 2 yesterday and beginning to feel like this is working for me -yay! However, for the last week I've had a strange click in my left knee when I walk up stairs. No pain so wasnt worried about it. But this afternoon I took my kids out for a walk and about 2 mins in my knee kind of collapsed. Quite painful to bear weight for a while. Thankfully I was pushing a buggy so used that to take weight and walked a little more bit slowly and with a few stops. A couple of hours later and I can walk ok if I keep on my toes on that leg and take it slow, but I'm a bit scared to run tomorrow even if it feels ok as don't want to make it worse. Any ideas what it might be??? I don't overdo it when I run and really do go slow as per all the advice so not sure what I've done wrong? I don't want to stop now as I really need to get fitter and this C25K is otherwise working great for me. Any advice appreciated!

I'm afraid you're bets stopping for now and going to see a sport physio. It clicking and then collapsing is something that needs investigating before you try running again.

You *may* be able to do the program as a brisk walking one, that will certainly get you fitter, but running? I'd caution against that right now. Sorry!

I agree with John_W get checked out so that you do not do further damage.

Thanks both, got myself a physio appointment for this evening! I guess one advantage of lockdown is that there are appointments available at short notice 🤷‍♀️
