Just done run 3 of week 6. I had a massive stitch on the first run of week 6. I'm not getting stitches but sometimes I get pains where it was. What do I do?

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Are you running at a pace at which you can speak clear, ungasping, sentences as you run?

This article may help you runnersworld.com/uk/health/...

Enjoy your journey.

Thanks for your reply. It is slowly easing off now and I think it was due to the breathing. I should have taken deep breaths where you stretch your belly out but only knew about this half way through the run (by this time the damage was done). Should have done my research before running I guess

So many people over look the breathing technique that is explained early in the app, but it’s very helpful. I’ve had stitch a couple of times towards the end of runs when I’ve pushed myself. Your body doesn’t like it when you starve it of oxygen for some reason 😂
