Woodland run 🌳🌲

β€’8 Replies

Following the suggestions and advice I received from roseabi last week, today I ran the third run of my new plan. It was my longest ever run, 35 minutes covering 4.35km. It's only 5 more minutes than I usually run, but it has been a long time coming. I am on a high and at last feeling 5k is in sight. Thanks roseabi, this plan is great and another big thank you to everyone else who gave advice and encouragement.

I went out just after 7am to beat the heat and headed for my favourite woodland tracks and trails. I ran a slightly different route to allow for the extra time and it was beautiful out there, with just a few dog walkers and fellow runners also out.

When I got home my hubby told me how proud he was of me for going out and doing my runs. Now that made me feel great!

Happy running everyone. πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

That's fantastic Delly-dot! The plan is a great support but you're doing all the hard work. I would think when you get to the 40 minute run you'll make the 5 k distance. So glad it's working out for you. The scenery looks very uplifting and kind words from loved ones puts energy in your step I'm sureπŸ‘πŸ‘. I did the speed run this morning suffering minor technical issues but I managed to keep on running at the end and got home feeling good! πŸƒπŸƒπŸƒ

Thanks Allbarron. I like the safety net of this plan! There's me thinking I was a free and easy individual, but turns out I like structure and routine too. It's amazing what you learn about yourself when you start running.... πŸ˜†

Glad you had a good run despite technical hiccups. I'm resting up now for a couple of days and plan to run next on Friday. It will be a little cooler by then, but I am enjoying getting up and running early so will probably do so again. 😊

Thank you Nilsam, lovely to hear from you. Hope everything is knitting back together nicely at your end? At least you can make the most of this glorious weather and enjoy the garden. I love roseabi's plan - it's like the missing link I needed to get me going - a bridge to the Bridge to 10k πŸ˜†!
