So strange I'm on wk6 R3 and Its the second time I have done this run..I just cant seem to complete it!!

Its not that I'm too out of breath I feel good.. but the pain inside my calves is sooo painful! That it make me stop and walk but only for like 30 seconds then I'm ok again. For maybe another 4 minutes then the pain is back...really hoping to get some advice on this too....so frustrated with my self!!

Welcome and well done 👍

The problem maybe that you’re not hydrated enough or that you need to stretch before your runs. Which is important if you want to provide injuries on your journey through the programme. IannodaTruffe will send a links to very important information to help you safely following the programme.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

I am not a medical expert, but would suggest that if both calves are hurting it is less likely to be a strain and more likely to be the aches of newly developing runner's legs you are experiencing.

There are a few things self-help things that you can do and these worked for me when I experienced a similar issue (apologies if you already do these).....

Ensure you are stretching after each run - these NHS stretches for runners are ideal: nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h...

Keep well hydrated on both run and rest days as pour hydrtion can affect your muscles.

Try dynamic stretches before a run - these are good: runnersworld.com/training/g...

Epsom salts in the bath are great for relieving sore muscles.

This calf muscle exercise was recommneded to me by a fellow forum member: youtube.com/watch?time_cont...

I hope something here helps. Good luck
