For the last 7 weeks or so I have had pain in my right knee.It is worst when I stand up after sitting for a long time or standing. I eases when I walk to a certain point and I never get any pain when running. It is a sharp deep pain on my left side of my right knee and goes around the back. It sometimes affects my calf muscle, making it feel stiff and sore. Sometimes it goes right down into the back of my heel and achilles tendon. I think I will try a get a call back from the doctor but I didn't really want to unless absolutley necessary due to the current situation with covid and the extra stress it is putting on the NHS. Can anyone help please?
Thanks
Ian

I was struggling with my right knee for couple of weeks then my left i think i was over compensating for my right. But I paid much more attention to my pre run and post run stretches including some yoga which is mostly prolonged stretching on rest days and as of the last two runs pain free.
I'd reccomend trying some long stretches to really loosen your legs up. If not I'd try the docs
We are not doctors but given that you've had a sharp deep pain for seven weeks, you really should see a professional and should not run until that's been fixed. I had a knee issue some years back and l learned not to mess with it on my own. The runs will wait, get that sorted first.
