You can have a couple rest days in between each run if that’s what you’re thinking about doing . As long as you have at least 1 rest day in between runs than the plan works. Try not to see the upcoming runs as brutal as you can will surprise yourself when you come to do the runs as how far your running as come along . Good luck.

Thank you! Yes I started out too soon and too hard a few months ago and hurt my back and put myself out of action for a week so I have learned to rest on rest days now! It’s just so very hard to run for even 90 seconds now(slowly) and I just can’t see how I will run for the full 5 mins x I have done it before though so I shouldn’t doubt my ability! Thanks for the reply

It’s to easy to get the running bug and want to run whenever possible. It’s good that you now know how important rest days are for everyone I will wish you good luck with week 3 but you don’t need it you have got it covered.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Each C25k week consists of three runs, but you can have more than one rest day between them if you need to.

Enjoy your journey.
