Big man running

So, finally got time to do this and finished Week 2 yesterday.

I’m 49, and weigh just over 20 stone.

Any advice on how to keep going? The thought of running non-stop for 2 or 3 minutes seems very daunting!

Mate..I'm 48 and 18 stone..the first was terrible.. the second one slightly better...only into week 3 but its OK. My advice go slow and listen to some music..in my case 1980 metal and 90s indie..take me back..and hey presto its over.... good luck keep going and stay safe

I’m also 49 and in the 20 stone range, and a smoker. I’m bricking it. Good luck with the challenge..👍

I was 20st 4lb when I started. I’m 57. I’m now at the end of week 8 and 17st 8lb (diet as well).

It’s tough but you will do it. Don’t worry about speed or distance. Focus on keeping going for the time. It’s more mental than physical. Just don’t stop!

I’m now running for 30 minutes reasonably comfortably. I would never have believed it possible at the start.

Not only can you do it, you’ll find you enjoy it.

Hi. I’m 38 years old and 21 stone plus! Keep going & trust the plan - the gradual progression prepares you for the steps up. The most important thing is to not take it too fast. It’s all about endurance and not pace. You can do it! (If I can anyone can!)

Good for you on your progress. 👏👏👏

If you find the thought daunting, try not to think about it! Put your trainers on, your earphones in and just keep putting one foot in front of the other. If it doesn't work for you the first time, don't give up, just rest for a couple of days and try again.

The programme works wonders, all it asks is a mixture of optimism and bloodymindedness from you.

Good luck!
