I feel really self concience when I go out. It takes me ages to actually get out the door. Will this get better?

Hi Wildfur...yeah totally changes. I was not very self confident. Now I dont give two hoots what others think. You just do it and do it your own way 😎🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

It certainly will get better. Yiu will reach a point where you become completely focussed on yourself and your relationship with your body. Almost a spiritual experience. I think it's what they call being in the zone. You'll be self conscious but in a really good way...

It will get better. As you get further into the runs you may find yourself bitten by the run bug and find that you no longer care what other people think.

It’s also good to remember that no one was born a runner. Every runner began from the same starting point as you and the last person to judge a new runner is a fellow runner. You are more likely to get support from other runners during a run than anywhere else, so get yourself out there and enjoy those runs! 😊

Simple answer wildfur don't ! Go out there slam in your headphones and become invisible 👍 it's that new runner phobia, no one's worried , no one's looking at you except with either jealousy or admiration.

When I started my c25k I'd take myself away from home a couple of miles away and run where it was quiet, now 🥳 I just leave the house and run.....

It’s good to remember that others won’t judge you half as harshly as you judge yourself ^-^ or half as much as you imagine they do. None of us are perfect so try to be kind to yourself and give yourself a break, then you can allow yourself to feel more comfortable and relaxed.

It will get better over time. The more confident you become in yourself then the less you will care about anyone looking you. I learnt a long time ago that actually most people are too busy with the stuff going on in their own lives to worry about watching us run. Hopefully you’ll become less self-conscious and just get out there to run. Good luck xx

Stick with it.

In a short while you will not give a damn who sees you or what they think.

You are doing this for you, not them, so what does it matter?

Well done.

I have found that it does get better. I have found that being comfortable helps me. One thing that I always say to by self if I do feel self-conconcious and exercising I remember my goals that I have. Hope this help
