I'm not a runner in any way, shape or form but desperately need to stop being blasé about my health (especially in the current climate). I'd downloaded the app before the apocalypse and had my shiny new sports bras waiting to be donned (sports bra companies have really upped their game since I last bought one!)
So, after planning where I could run that involves touching nothing and no-one, I tried the first run on Thursday but only managed 4 full minute runs and two half-assed stagger/runs. I came home feeling defeated and knackered. Came on here, read some motivating posts and watched the vid about slow running and just came back from actually completing it. Slow running FTW! 🏃 Yay!
I still feel like this cartoon by Nathan W Pyle 😅

Thanks! I was a bit skeptical about it thinking it was a bit cheaty but I was definitely exerting myself without killing myself haha. Just need to stop worrying about what people think now... Not that there are any people out at the moment
Slow, slow slow Fannyvan, embrace your inner snail and then some! Check out the Japanese Slow Running clip on YouTube - it’s a lifesaver for those of us who are not naturals at this running malarkey! Enjoy!
That run on Thursday speaks volumes to me... you did 4, that’s good, then it got tough... but you didn’t quit! That’s a really positive sign for me... well done there... I’d have been telling you to be damn proud of yourself and kick that deflation right out of your head! Another really positive sign is what you did about it... you read, you learned, you thought about it and you found a solution. Very well done, you’ll go far!
If you didn’t already find the guide to the plan while reading, it’s here healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and contains lots more tips.
You can do this, and I think you know you can after this run... enjoy your journey
