STARTED AS A WORK TEAM BUILDING

Hi All just over six weeks ago. ,sick of feeling unfit and worried about getting on a bit , I challenged everyone in my office to join me in doing C25K.There was no way that this would get done after work as A- totally exhausted , B - Regularly work late , so we decided to book the time in our diary’s and make ourselves as important as everything else in our day.

The first week was shocking -mainly that we initially had 11 people sign up but more so in that all of us could barely run for 1 minute at a time without gasping and struggling to get through it . But the effects were almost immediate , mostly in mood enhancing endorphins and also because we were taking control of our health and time for ourselves rather than being constantly desk bound.we also started walking more and on run days regularly did over 14000 steps from almost nothing before .

Events we are all now dealing with kicked in and we are all working from home now

But here we are starting week 7 and even though we are now down to the final five , we are apparently now runners 😃 and we are all running 25 mins non stop .

By ourselves of course but sharing progress and staying positive by what’s app with one of the few things we can do that costs nothing apart from good trainers .

If you are just starting on this journey, and are finding it tough going , it’s the same for all of us no matter what stage you are at but please keep at it , it’s so worth it .

If you are thinking what’s the point ? Think how you will feel if you suddenly don’t have the choice !

Thanks for all the inspiration and shared stories on this forum .

I just hope and pray that we can keep on doing this in the current crisis and graduate .

Keep running safely and stay well everyone x

Thanks Granspeed and 1710charlie

Iannoda, ill be sure to check it out today .

We are a range of different ages , from mid twenties to me being the oldest at 57 , and different shapes and sizes, boys and girls but now we all actually look forward to it every run day . We all live in different areas but we all have found a way / routes to run .

I can’t believe it’s taken this long to discover it .
