So I got to week 8 run 1 which was 2 weeks ago, until a rubbish cold which turned into a nasty infection (now on antibiotics) took over. I think from Wednesday I should be ok to get back on it, but where do I start? The thought of running 28 mins is not leaving me convinced I can do it again.
The only saving grace is I've walked about 30 miles so far for March just to keep my legs going...... any advice would be greatly appreciated as feeling slightly dejected.
Massive Congratulations to all my fellow runners who started at the same time and have gone on to graduate 👍❤

You won’t have lost any fitness in the first two weeks, so you’ll only have had a tiny bit gone by Wednesday. That said, viruses do take energy from us, and we are still fighting the tail end of them as the symptoms disappear, so you probably won’t have 100% of your maximum.
What I’d do is just go run, no specific targets and enjoy yourself. Set a timer just in case you hit 28, when you should of course stop. If you can’t get to 28, that’s fine... the run you did will have made you fitter for the next one, and you’ll have fed your body with some lovely oxygen and nutrients that they will have been slightly lacking while your body spent energy and resources fighting the virus.
Just be very proud that you got back out there and ran... and don’t forget to take it nice and slowly.
Great advice from UnfitNoMore . I’d suggest the same. You could break it up a little, run for 14 minutes, take a little walking break and run again for 14 minutes. You’ll still have done 28 minutes. It will ease you back in and give you the confidence to keep going.
