Hello all going to start the programme just wondering how fast I should be 'running' as the prospect of the word is scary! Could I start with a jog then build up through the weeks?
Thanks in advance

You will get lots of links and advice here I'm sure, but keep it very slow. 'Running' relates to how your body is moving, not the speed. A lot of people start too fast and then get out of breath.
Read all the advice - keeping it slow allows you to build your stamina so you can build up your time running.
I hope you get on well.
Currently starting Week 5, I'm told that worrying about speed is something to leave until after you have completed the 9 weeks and can run 30 minutes. Until then, take it slow (yes, absolutely a slow jog) as your stamina builds over time.
Slowly, very very slowly!
Look up Japanese slow running (there is a good YouTube video that should be the first hit on Google)
Have a go at that.
Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and describes the recommended easy conversational pace along with many other tips.
Enjoy your journey.
Read the guide that Iannoda has linked. It's important that you find a pace that is sustainable; that you can keep going for each of the runs as they come up. Enjoy the programme and don't worry about speed!
Thank you very much all, I have noted all your comments and I feel much more confident! I will read the guides and look at the video.
Many thanks!
The secret to this plan is that you will discover untapped levels of slowness that you never thought were possible before you started. Just run as slow as you possibly can, then try and go even slower. You'll be amazed what you can achieve.
Once you get to 30 minutes, then you can start working on speeding things up a bit. The trick to going faster over shorter distances is to increase the distance you can run slowly. It sounds counterintuitive but it actually makes sense.
Keep it very slow as others have said, this is because the course is designed to build your stamina and get you running for 30 minutes. Once you have done that there are lots of other options.
There is great advice pinned on the C25K forum board in relation to this Minxy.
Have a read of the links put up by Ian and go from there.
