Please can someone explain to me how the pace bit works on the Fitbit?

On Friday’s run, I ran for 25:13 minutes, covering 2.82 km, my pace being 8’56”.

On Monday’s run, I ran for 25:09 minutes, covering 2.91 km, my pace being recorded as 8’39”.

On Monday, I ran faster than on Friday, according to my running buddies and my own experience. How does this relate to the pace recordings? I don’t understand them. Do they mean that the lower the number, the faster my pace? Please excuse my thickness! 😁

I think that might be minutes per km maybe. In which case the number will become lower as you get faster.

Perhaps the big heart powering those shoes deserves credit too. Well done you. Yet another moment for Chariots? Go MG! go!

Pace is a measure of time divided by distance eg. mins per kilometre

Your Monday run was at a faster average pace.......you were averaging 8'39" per kilometre, which is normally written as 8:39/k.

Well done, that is an impressive increase in pace.

You were running at an average pace of 1km in 8mins 56 seconds on your first run and 8 mins 39 seconds on per 1km on your second.

To be fair dont worry about your pace times at this stage...they are far from the important thing (it's cool yes I knos) but completing steady runs at a slow pace with out injury is the goal. What week ya on?
