Hey chaps.on W3R2 but just wondering about spacing the days and what you all do if you have to stop for 2/3 days because of work. Do you repeat a run?

After 2/3 days you will be fine, most of the guidance suggests you won't lose any fitness until a break of more than about 2 weeks.

I would say give it a go and see how you feel. Take it slow and if you start to struggle, slow down some more.

If it is too much, you can always run it again, there is no harm or shame in doing that (I restarted the first week a couple of times before I felt confident in myself to move on) and just put that one down to a practice run.

Most of all, stay positive, keep smiling and enjoy it. :-)

Happy running.

No repeat... I often have three days between runs...It is two weeks before we begin to lose ground on fitness:)

Plenty of exercises for the days you don't run.. even at work, depending what work is.. :)

I feel a little worried about losing motivation rather than fitness I suppose! So thanks guys!

Life will always have a habit of getting in the way. Try to think about the programme a little more flexibly, so a 'week' is a stage, rather than a calendar week.

Fitnesswise, I always left 2 or 3 days between runs because I was worried about injury, and being older I felt my muscles needed the time to adapt. I've only recently been happy to run every other day.

Good luck.

2/3 days should be fine. I often have to skip a few days and to keep motivation I try to just pencil in when the next one will be. So when I finish running on Sunday I just kind of think "Ok next time will be Weds/Thurs".

You're always going to have other things going on, the way I see it is if I'm going to keep running up long term, it has to fit around my life. If I try to cram it in, or cancel other things to make room for it, it's probably not going to work for me.

The positive feelings i get from it makes me want to make it unmissable - something as important sleep or something. Probably sounds extreme but I’ve been so extremely lazy!!

I actually think it's good to allow extra non-running days. and I almost always took two days off between each week. I found I generally tended to come back stronger and more refreshed.

There's no actual time limit for completing this and a "week" is simply a handy term for the time it takes to successfully complete each set of three runs, so don't get too hung up and keep moving on. There's no need to redo any run you actually complete, but there's also no harm in repeating them either.
