Long post alert. You might get one daily as I state how I am feeling in the lead up. I am writing this as I lie in bed with a coffee at around 10.30 thinking about this time next week I will be hopefully pounding the streets of East London to Greenwich. My training pace that I seem to achieve comfortably is just over 10 mins per mile. I am in Green Wave G the last to start, wave goes at 9.45. So in that 45 mins if I clear the starting gate quickly I would hope to be around 3-4 miles in and running round Canary Wharf. Some of the family have said they will try to get here as it’s supposed to be good views of the runners and not so popular with the crowds as well as then travelling to the end to meet me in Greenwich Park after seeing me finish.

How do I feel, nervous, excited and anxious why well a lot of my fellow Pilgrims Runners are staying up overnight in London where as I can get a train up on the day. At a push I have two I can get and hopefully British Rail won’t let me down. I do really want to catch the first one as this will give me longer to soak up atmosphere and to prepare. I have my running paperwork number, shoe chip safety pins clothes bag and have pretty much sorted out what I shall run in. Over clothes I have been told won’t be a problem for the waiting around as I will be donated a fleece and overcoat that will be too big for me but is also too big now for the current owner who has lost a significant amount of weight and these will be collected and given to charity after the start. I intend to do one more 5k training run in the week but I don’t feel it’s absolutely desperate that I do. What is though is that I need to drink extra water throughout the week to ensure I am super hydrated. From graduating C25K to running a half marathon in less than a year having lost mum on Graduation Day in the Hospice after telling her I had graduated. The next few weeks will be emotional. Well that will do for now. I will keep you informed on how I am doing over this week. Good luck to all out there on whatever week your on. Stick with it, if I can do it so can you.
