What do people do with their mucky trainers? Do you put them in the washing machine or do you let them dry out for next time? 🤔

This is what one brand recommend, I’m sure they’re all similar. asics.com/gb/en-gb/running-...

First I’d dry them out and when dry, either bash them together sole to sole, or pop them on and jump up and down... this removes quite a bit of the mud.

Thanks for that! That bit about putting my best cashmere jumper in the washing machine made me chuckle a bit. Of course I wouldn't - deliberately 🤣.

I think I'll just carry on doing it your way! 🤭

Ooh brings me out in a cold sweat whenever this question is asked......never, ever, ever.....put them in the washing machine😱, you’ll kill them!

Be proud of that mud and splashes, running medals they are! 🏃‍♀️

I’ve never cleaned mine, apart from a good bash to get the caked mud off......the only water they’ve ever seen are puddles! .....as UnfitNoMore says, as with all things, follow manufacturers instructions......

OK Madge, rest easy! I've got the message. Anything that saves me work is ok with me!

Don’t put them in the washing machine!

I let mine dry out, then brush them off with a stiff brush (I just bought a floor scrubbing brush from a hardware store.) Then, wipe over with a damp cloth and they are as good as new!

I also knock them together to remove the excess mud. I also run on the beach at times which cleans them up sand scrub style! 😄

I do bash them together to remove dried mud. The running on sand sounds good but I thought that made for harder running?

I only run on hard, wet sand, never on dry. I am fortunate that our nearest beach has a good firm surface, especially when the tide is on the way out – I discovered this by chance when I went to see a firework display! 😄

Leave ‘em. They’re like battle scars, and ever warrior needs those.

I never thought of it like that!

So, you've been told! Never put your trainers in a washing machine! Good advice!

Erm, but late for this advice maybe, but one of the things I did with my brand new trainers, was give then a good coating with Fabsil.

Not all over, just at the front and sides where they take the most punishment.

Seems to be helping a bit! Though to be honest it was more about trying to keep my feel dry than protecting my shoes 😁

And I thought you only had to put one foot in front of the other! There are so many things to do/think of/consider/buy!

It's too complicated. I might have to take up swimming instead. Just a pair of budgie smugglers and your away 🤣

Never put your budgie smugglers in the washing machine, even though the chemicals in the pool ruin the lycra. I have to buy special soft hand washing liquid for my cossie, which gets a lot of use. 😉🤣

Hi. I just simply rinse the mud off with the hose pipe ,or just bang them together to get the mud off.

I also pack them with newspaper if their really wet then stick them in the airing cupboard to dry🤗🤗

Airing cupboard! Now that sounds like a good bet!

Works a treat for me! 🤗🤗🏃‍♀️

I have a bucket of water and a brush outside so I can wash them off while still wearing them.

Then stuff them with paper to dry.
