Last time I did C25K I had no bowel problems until week 7. After a few months break, I have started from the beginning again, and am already experiencing really bad urge to go to the toilet by the end of the 30 mins. What I've seen online talks about long distance runners and "runners' trots" - what can I do to help me in my gentle 30 mins? Don't want this to put me off. Thanks.

Does anyone experience terrible bowel urge during runs?
Hi, this affects loads of people. Exercise is great for loosening the bowels. I’m pretty regular, I usually go morning and night time. However in the evenings I usually run midweek and I have to have a toilet visit or I will get the urge mid run. I’m running now 3 years and my body and mind seem to have synced with my bowel. As soon as I start thinking about going for a run I get the urge to go to the toilet. I won’t go for a run unless I have emptied myself.
On Saturday mornings I awake at 7am, get into my running gear and have a light breakfast and coffee. I get up 2 hours before parkrun just so as I can give my body time to wake up and go to the toilet.
I’ve been caught out a couple of times. Don’t worry about it or be embarrassed. It is just one of those things we as runners need to be aware of.

You could also pick a running route which has a couple of public toilets along the way, Just in case. Or you could jump a fence in the countryside.
I think this is a common problem. I would just try to time it that you go before you run - not always possible for early runners, I know.
There's definitely an element of training your body. Start to think about going for your run in advance, consciously, almost telling yourself; now's the time...
It will take a little while but if you're doing your runs at similar times, it will work. 👍🏻😊
