I wonder if I'm alone in thinking Laura's podcast could do with a bit of updating? Mostly it's fine but some of the advice seems at odds with that suggested on here. For example, I'm on Week 2 and the advice is to make sure I land on my heel and not the ball or side of my foot, whereas the advice in the beginner notes on here is to land midfoot, definitely not the heel, both in order to avoid injury! Hmmmm... 🤔

I believe we’ve requested the change a couple of times.
Heel first landing does cause a difference in the impact through the shins and to the knees, and will almost certainly have you landing the feet in front of the body, which isn’t a stable way to run. That said, we do recommend running at a comfortable pace and the natural gait moves towards the toes the faster one runs... adding in the factor of the way daily shoes are made, some new runners will find it difficult/uncomfortable to avoid heel striking at first.
