Going well so far

So I completed wk1rn3 today and really pleased that I’ve completed all 3 runs this week, with a big hike yesterday too. I’ve also eaten healthily and cut out all alcohol so far this year (ok that’s only a week but I determined to keep it going!) I had a couple of plain low calorie tonics with lemon when I fancied something different at the weekend. I’ll take a rest day tomorrow then start wk2rn1.

I’m running usually first thing in the morning before eating because I’m only really running to try and burn fat, and in my head running before eating is more likely to burn off the fat cells? Anyone know if this logic is right? I have a black coffee before I go and a banana and pint of water when I get back and stretch.

All tips and advice appreciated, feeling very thankful that I’ve found this forum, I read lots of posts before I go and it makes me feel so motivated. Bless you and good luck with your own journeys.

Well done for completing your 1st week. Each to their own when they like to run. I tend to go mid morning atm but I’m sure once the summer months come, it’ll be early. Bananas are great for refuelling. Enjoy your 2nd week and the rest of your journey however long it takes.

Well done for starting and getting through the first week. I re-started this morning but waited until it was light enough to feel safe about getting out there. This meant I had eaten an hour before. Try different routes through the week. I got stuck doing the same route and started telling myself negative thoughts "this bit will be tough when I turn into this road". Whereas you don't notice the time / distance the same when the route is new. Then return to an old route and see the improvement later on.

That’s a really good idea re different routes I hadn’t thought of that. I have run the same route mainly because it’s tree lined streets which I find quite relaxing being in a city. But I’ll try a different route this week to stop

me getting bored. Thank you!!

You’re doing great. Well done on completing week 1! I’ve been running mid morning as I’ve been on leave from work. I’m back tomorrow so I’ll run in the evenings. I’m not a morning person! I’m not looking forward to running in the dark but I’m determined to keep going.

Thank you! 🙂 I am really pleased that I’ve finally started exercising! I’m not a morning person either! And when I say first thing I mean 10.30/11.00 after I’ve woken up!! Because I’ve been on leave too but same as you I’m back at work now and will try and go straight after work, even though it’s in the dark. And I know if I don’t go as soon as I get home I end up talking myself out of things. Good luck with your running and let us know how it goes. X
