It seems like an age since I last ran, I did try jumping on the treadmill on Sunday but I only managed 12 minutes before the aching in my legs became too much and turned to pain.
No, I haven't taken up kickboxing and neither have a started hitting myself with a cricket bat, I normally leave that to Mrs LeeU when I've been bad; sorry, I digress a little. I ran last Monday (inside as it was lunchtime and one of the grandkids was here) I then didn't get to run again last week, the area I was in wasn't 100% as there had been a couple of muggings and a stabbing or two but that's London for you, nor could I get on the treadmill in the hotel, there was only one working and there was a queue for that though I did wait nearly an hour on Wednesday but there were still 2-3 people in front of me. Mad.
I got back and started sneezing and feeling crappy. I normally process illnesses quite quickly and I felt ok on Sunday, hence jumping on the treadmill, everything was fine, except the legs, within a minute they started aching and then, as above, the ache when to being painful, at that point I stopped.
Today I decided to take it easy, pulled up the podcast for week 9 and after the obligatory warm up walk, set off at 6kph to see how it went.
I did get a bit of aching in my left ankle but other than that a nice 30 minute run, with the last 5 minutes consisting of 4 minutes at 7kph and the last minute at 8kph.
I'll have the usual rest day tomorrow and providing the wind and rain isn't horrendous on Thursday I think I may go for a slow run outside.
My working year finishes on Friday and I am looking forward to it.
Happy running everyone.
