So my neighbour, a young lad who runs quite abit told me the 5k route he runs. I checked it out on google maps and it is just over 5k door to door. I completed the run with Jo on the podcast but I still had about a 15 min walk home. Should I continue with this route or shorten it to be complete within the podcast time. By the way the run went well and I feel good.

If you like the route and don’t mind the longer walk home i would carry on with it

I’d carry on with it if you like it. That way, the further along the program you go, you’ll notice the progress you’re making by the closer you get to home before walking 😁. Maybe mix it up a bit to add interest if you start to lose your mojo, but other than that stick with it 👍🏼

If you like it stick to it. You’ll notice you cover more ground as you progress so you walk home should get shorter 😁

If you can afford the extra time stick with it. That way you will have mental markers to gauge your progress as you improve. Unfortunately they will also let you know when your having a not so good day, but generally it will be encouraging. Alternatively turn round at the halfway time marker and get a little further each run if you have limited time.
