A month or so ago I completed couch to 5k. I was doing so well but then got shin splints and a horrible virus that triggered my asthma. I am finally feeling better🎉🎉. Where do I start with regaining my fitness? Many thanks

First and foremost, get your shoes on and get out there! 👍🏻😁

Where would you like to start? If you're feeling fairly confident just pop out and try a 15 min run with 5 warm and cool either side.

If you're not confident get the app out and pick say a w3 or w4 run and just follow it. Do a couple of these over the next few days and see how it goes... if it's too hard drop back a little, too easy, go up the weeks...

Good luck, let us know how you get on.

I am a little scared of triggering pain or asthma again so a week 4 run sounds a great idea.

Perfect 👍🏻 don't forget, slow and steady!

I appreciate I am not a doctor, but if you aren’t on a powder combined inhaler, check them out! I am only running because of my switch to Relvar Ellipta after a summer virus.

Same type of combo as me before the switch. It might not be for you, but for me Relvar is a game changer.

Don't forget your stretches, but only do the held stretches *after* a run as part of cooldown. Mr grumpy used to do them for warmup and got awful shin splints. He doesn't now he does them afterwards. (Which I told him because someone on here mentioned it when I started c25k😁)

Not what you're looking for?
