No shame in taking longer than 9weeks

So Ive been doing the C25k and graduated last week. I didn’t make it to 5k in 30 mins but in 32mins. I was proud of myself nonetheless as I’ve done it. I’m not a natural fitty, my figure doesn’t say I’m a runner but my mind and body in a physical feeling kind of way tells me that I’m in the best shape I’ve been since I was a teenager. It took me 12 weeks to get this far and I’m extremely pleased. In a short space of 3 months, ive suffered a loss and I’ve been poorly. There’s been tears and tantrums and my boyfriend has suffered my moods in all this time and still stuck with me each and every step as he’s believed in me and helped with the encouragement of keeping it up. It’s easy to give up but it’s so much more rewarding to keep going. It makes you feel like a winner every time you move on to the next run. C25K is one of the best things that’s happened to me and I’m so grateful.

I find that running is the best medicine for me.

Learning to run is way more than becoming adept at putting one leg in front of the other in rapid succession.

Many congratulations on your graduation fellow runner.

Many congratulations on graduating. I certainly know that it will take me longer than 9 weeks, but who cares. Well done 🥇🏆

Congratulations on completing C25K, that is a excellent time of 32 minutes for running your first 5K, I got a PB of around 32 minutes 8 months after I graduated.

If you wish to get a graduation badge and the word GRADUATE 🎓 next to your username leave a message on the October graduate post in the pinned posts on the right side of the healthunlocked C25K home page and tell the administrators that you have ran W9R3 of C25K and graduated 🎓 🏃🏾 👍

What a fab post. 32 mins is a fab first 5k, my first 5k was 34 mins. Like you i had many tears during c25k. However, 6 months on I’m still running, I’ve done 2 10k’s and through parkrun I’ve taken my 5k time down to 26 mins. Keep running and the rewards get greater. 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️❤️
