At lot. I donโt count the miles. Iโve completed the programme twice and am now running 5K on a regular basis. Iโd hate to think how many miles they have run. ๐ค
Ah.. limited space in the cupboard so all leather shoes have been ousted... and they are now in the bottom of my wardrobe... Iโm now considering recovery shoes instead of being barefooted in the house too... and I used to laugh at how many shoes the wife โneededโ
I think for me it wasn't when I ran run 3 of week 6 which they tell you at the end "that you are now OFFICIALLY a RUNNER " but during run 3 of week 5, I had never ran more than 10 minutes before in my life.
The other time I considered being a runner was when I spent ยฃ99 on running shoes, the dearest shoes I have ever bought.
For me it was when I told a few people I had started running again after quite a number of years off!
I've never felt 'old' but now I'm getting towards Week 9, I really do feel like I've been rejuvinated and have even more energy than I did in my 30's and a bigger smile and a spring in my step ๐
This is all down to the encouragement of EVERYONE on this forum โค๏ธ
๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ My biggest laugh is that I have never cared at all about clothes except for utility since my teens, and that was a REALLY long time ago! ๐๐
....running consumes my plans, dreams, goals, shopping, eating, and communicating on this forum....before starting cto5 none of these things mattered ..... love it ๐ฅฐ
.... when all I can think about is how much water I can consume so that I stay hydrated for a better run. Iโve been known to choose a glass of water over a Pimms recently ๐ฒ
My moment was when I overtook some fit looking people walking a dog in the park. I used to feel that I ran at a similar speed that most people walk at. This may still be the case, but that day I was delighted to run past them. The fact it was up a hill just added to the thrill!
I remember my first run on pouring rain. Before that I wouldnโt have dared to go out of the house on such weather without a very serious external reason (wife forcing me out with a broom or similar), but that day going out for a run felt just fine. Since then I knew Iโve got the bug
Update from this morning - when you get assaulted by a hedge with an agenda, and your first concern is that it might have ripped your favourite running top ๐คฃ
Thank you for all those who responded to my post. Watch out for another one on Friday. Happy running and I hope you all have a good week. ๐โโ๏ธ
You know youโre a runner when you start obsessing about your food and if itโs โrunner friendlyโ... will it boost my performance? Will it help my recovery? The joys!
Me too Iโm the same! I want to improve on my parkrun PB. Iโm averaging 36 mins at the moment but I know Iโve got so much more in me, I just need to be able to find it. Xx
Iโm about c25k + 3-4 weeks. I did the programme about 2 years ago and then I moved last year so running took a back burner for awhile and decided to do the programme this year.
Good for you, improvements will come so long as we are in it for the long haul. I dare not think about giving up running now, I want to see how far I can go.
