Is my speed TOO SLOW!?

Hi everyone. I had to stop for a month due to an ankle injury on wk4. Started from the beginning again but jogging at 3.8mph (it says to keep it slow). Is this ridiculously slow?? I was running at 4.3mph before the injury but don't want to overdo it. Any guidance much appreciated. Wk5 next week.🤔

As long as you are performing a running motion, speed is irrelevant. C25K is all about building up the amount of time that you’re running for and NOT distance. Just keep at it and well done.

Glad you are better and back running. If that pace works for you and helps you ease back in to c25k then great . Good luck 😊

We are very slow but have gained a bit of speed over time

Yes, I thought it probably best to get through the runs and increase speed then. Thanks for your reply. 😊

Slow and steady avoids injury and you are right speed comes later. This programme teaches your body to be able to run for 30 minutes and being able to keep running is the important bit

No it's not ridiculously slow, as long as you are comfortable running, that is the main thing.

You can run too fast but you can never run too slow. Your running further and faster than the majority of the population who never get off the couch! Well done 🙂

Slow is good, slow is calm, I run slowly, it certainly hasn't stopped me achieving my goals and I have recently upped to 10k.

Stick with a pace which allows you to complete your runs and that's all you need

I agree you can never run to slow, I found the Japanese slow running video really helpful 😊

So good to hear. I do the parkrun but am usually very nearly the last but as someone said ‘at least I got off the couch’!
