Advice please....

I haven’t been for a run since last Thursday. I went away to visit family until Wednesday and then on Tuesday I came down with some kind of awful gastroenteritis/food poisoning. My intention was to run on the Wednesday but obviously I couldn’t. I wanted to get up and go this morning but I’ve woken up and I’m still feeling quite nauseous and not quite 100%. I really don’t want to have to restart anything! If I go tomorrow will I be okay if I take it slow?

Don't run at all until you are fully well..eating properly and well hydrated.

We do not lose fitness until after two weeks..and the illness you have had is very debilitating.

Maybe a very gentle walk tomorrow, take it slowly and rest assured...the runs wait 😉

Oldfloss is totally right. Drop the guilt, rest, recuperate, and keep your fluids up ! The NHS Strength and Flex podcasts are useful if you want to keep up some gentle exercise: I can do them in my kitchen and hallway, so you may not even have to go out to exercise ! Get well soon x
