No idea what’s happened - the last 2 runs I’ve done my head gremlins having been having a hell of a party with my mind. Yes it’s been a bit warmer and very humid but I’m having to sneak 2 or 3 quick 10-15 seconds breather fast walk - usually around the 3k-4.5k stretch... I’ve changed the route - running it the other way round; redone my music list; sing along but nope, still hitting that wall (I have to say I have had sinus issues too so breathing has been hard) - any thoughts/tips?

I’ve been running a year... it was hot the other day and I went out for a 4.25 mile run, at 2 miles I was spent... not even a walk break was going to save the run... it happens... I was a tad disappointed... but last year I couldn’t run 2 minutes in the heat, not running beyond 2 miles in it is huge progress no? Same with you. Add the sinus issues in and I have to say I’m very impressed at how little walking you’re taking. Look at where you came from and what you’re doing now... and cut yourself a little slack here. Relax before you run... do the first few minutes slower than usual... wait until your breathing is good and then ease into your happy pace. You can do this.
The gremlins are really annoying, aren't they? I looked online for suggestions for podcasts for runners and found a very funny one that seems to be highly recommended and found myself smiling a lot today - that seemed to chase the gremlins away.
If you are labouring with a bug, they can have a depressing effect so everything is viewed through darker specs than you normally would.
